Find one good example that could be used as support for a SAT essay. It should be a person or event that could be used as an example of innovation or determination. If you do some googling, you will find lists of examples. Surf a bit and then choose one example. Write up the example as well as how it might be used in an essay. Remember these can be literary, historical, or from another discipline (academic subject). Once you have posted your example, read your classmates examples and then post any responses you have to those examples as replies. We will vote on the best example next week.
A good essay example for the SAT would be the Charlie Hebdo incident that happened in France. It would be a good example if you had an essay topic that had something to do with perseverance in a crisis.

Joni Tada became paralyzed from the shoulders down after an accident as a teenager. Eventually, she became able to paint by holding the brush between her teeth and began an organization to collect wheelchairs to donate to developing countries. She shows that tragedy does not stop progress and that one's perseverance can affect the world.

The example I would use is Albert Einstein. He constantly emphasized that what makes a great scientist is his or her character, not intelligence. This is true because a person can be extremely intelligent while simultaneously being prideful and conceited.

A good SAT example would be Malala Yousafzai. Despite her oppositions' attempts to stop her, one of them being shooting her in the head, she still fights for women's rights in her country. She is only 17, but she is a strong and purpose driven young woman.
